Questions about returning to work after mat leave

Is it normal to feel anxious or guilty about going back to work after maternity leave?

Yes. Many moms feel a mix of excitement, sadness, guilt and worry as their leave ends. These feelings are common and don't mean you're making the wrong choice. This workshop gives you space to name them and tools to move through them.

When should I start preparing to return to work?

A few months before your return date is a good time to start thinking about childcare, routines at home and conversations with your workplace. That's why this workshop is designed for moms with about 3–6 months or less left on leave.

Is the workshop really free?

Yes. The Returning to Work After Maternity Leave workshop is free and held on Zoom, so you can join from anywhere in Ontario.

What if I can't attend live?

Register anyway. Everyone who registers will receive the recording link by email.

What if I need more support than a workshop?

MARSHA Care offers pregnancy and postpartum counselling in Barrie, Orillia and virtually across Ontario. You can book a free consultation anytime. For questions about your legal rights when returning from leave, CLEO's guide for new and expecting parents is a good starting point.
